Sole Housekeeper

EXCEPTIONAL SOLE HOUSEKEEPER REQUIRED FOR UHNW PROPERTY IN HENLEY-ON-THAMES

Salary: £45,000 negotiable, depending on experience

A lovely client of ours is looking to appoint a proactive, organised and experienced full-time Sole Housekeeper for their 5-bedroom property just outside Henley-on-Thames. Responsible for running the home for the couple, you will have prior experience working in high-end private households and the ability to undertake a varied position.

Confident across all areas of housekeeping and laundry, you will ensure that 5-star standards of cleanliness and organisation are maintained at all times. Caring for antiques, art works and fine furnishings, it is imperative that you have excellent knowledge of how to care for luxury furnishings and surfaces and have a good understanding of the use of appropriate cleaning products.

The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient, organised, and trustworthy, as well as having the ability to work autonomously. Though cooking is not an essential requirement, it would be a bonus if the Housekeeper could cook. Other duties will include wardrobe management, packing and unpacking for the principals, errand running, shopping for cleaning products, groceries and other household items and ad-hoc pet care (they have a dog).

Usual working hours are from 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday, but flexibility is required. A live-out role, you will be based in the local vicinity to ensure a fuss-free commute and having a driving license is an essential requirement for this role. Discretion, reliability and having a calm and methodical nature are of utmost importance for this role, as well as the ability to read a room.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

· Daily cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen and living areas

· Changing bed linen, making beds, and tidying and cleaning bedrooms

· Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management, including caring for fine fabrics

· Packing and unpacking for the principals

· Polishing silver, glass, marble, and wood surfaces

· Caring for antiques and artworks

· Basic cooking (ideally, but not essential)

· Liaising with and greeting tradespeople and contractors

· Shopping for groceries and cleaning products; inventory management, ensuring proper stock control/rotation

· Errand running

· Pet care

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

· Prior housekeeping experience in a high-end private household

· Fluency in English and the right to live and work in the UK

· Hardworking, dedicated and high attention to detail

· Able to work independently with little supervision; calm and self-motivated

· Trustworthy, reliable, and discreet

· Based locally in the Henley-on-Thames area

· Excellent checkable references
