We’re currently hiring for a full-time Delivery Loader & Shunter at our Birmingham depot. The role will include working to ensure all delivered vehicles are loaded safely, in a timely manner and according to all company procedures. You will also on an ad-hoc basis operate as a HGV Class 2 Driver when needed, to cover busy periods and also holidays / sickness if required. You will be working as part of a key supportive team within the depot, where you will take ownership and work alongside a team of drivers and employees in the loading of all vehicles to go out delivering that day with good attention to detail and can work well in a busy environment, along with the competent & safe driving and delivery of goods using a HGV Class 2 vehicle.

What will you be doing as a Delivery Loader / Shunter?

· The loading of all delivery vehicles each day

· Working alongside drivers and other employees to help load the vehicles.

· Ensuring all cages and pallets are loaded safely and securely onto vehicles.

. Taking responsibility for the zone that you are working in; this includes ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained.

· Supporting other departments as required.

· Multidrop delivery of customers’ orders in cages and on pallets in an organised and timely fashion (when required)

· Loading lorries according to daily routes while following all CPC regulations.

· Dealing with Customer queries and payments upon delivery.

· Supporting other departments as required.

What do you need to be a Delivery Loader?

• Excellent work ethic is required, as well as punctuality and reliability.
• Initiative and the capability to work both independently and as part of a team to guide them.
• Good time management as you will be working at speed and to deadlines.
• Good attention to detail and careful precision to meet targets.
• Able to work in a high-volume, sometimes physically challenging role.
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
• Experience and a licence driving a forklift truck – Counterbalance.
• You must have a good understanding of tachograph rules and regulations.
• Confident using tail lifts.
• You will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service.
• Candidates must be CPC qualified and must not have more than 6 points on their license to be considered for the role.

• Good attention to detail and careful precision to meet targets.

• Tuesday: 09:00 – 18:00
