Senior Quantity Surveyor

Abatec are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an industry-leading engineering business based on site in Plymouth. Our client focuses on vital infrastructure such as underground cables connecting wind farms, water and wastewater networks, flood and coastal defence and jetties to name a few.

Initially the successful individual will be working on a £35m refurb project in Plymouth, which will be running into 2024. Further projects will be based in the Plymouth and Cornwall areas. There is an option for hybrid working, if needed.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will:

• Maintain accurate records, control and reconcile costs and value, report variances against agreed performance, compliance and finance targets.
• Administer subcontract accounts and take control of change management.
• Be involved in a review of current procedures and processes and assist in the implementation of new and revised processes where required.
• Responsible for all pre and post contract duties.
• Draft and negotiate NEC forms of contract.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks.

Our client requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor with:

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar
• Experience of working for a tier one Civil Engineering contractor.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A thorough understanding of NEC form of contracts.

Salary and benefits include:

• £55,000 - £65,000 per annum
