Furniture CAD Drafter and Product Estimator

Position Overview: This position will consist of two primary functions, AutoCAD Drafter and Product Estimator for requested products.
As an AutoCAD Designer you will create AutoCAD 3D solid drawings and potential renderings for custom industrial office furniture per the gathered specifications from outside sales and contact with the dealer directly. The gathered material my include furniture specifications, design plans and or architectural plans which you will need to be able to interpret into drawings. You will also be required to effectively communicate with customers over the phone to ask questions and work on details with the customer. The design must meet the customer needs and be manufacturable in our factory.
As a Product Estimator you will be using the drawings you created to calculate the cost to manufacture the job with the proper amount of markup to ensure the financial success of Action Laminates. Solid math skills to calutate and writing skills to create product descriptions is needed. The position requires a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual who can work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.

Job Responsibilities
· Designing Laminate based Furniture in AutoCAD that is accurate, functional, and manufacturable based off provided specifications.
· Gathering information (from sketches, emails, plans and talking with customers) to generate product specification and quotes.
· Work effectively with outside sales team
· Build and maintain a strong product knowledge to increase design effectiveness.
· Some projects may need to have renderings generated for the project. Rendering capabilities is a plus but not required.
· Calculate quote by compiling cost of labor and material needed to build the product.
· Represent and maintain Action Laminate’s high level of integrity and dependability.

Required Skills and Qualifications
· 2 years of AutoCAD experience or AutoCAD Certification is required along with the skill and fluency that comes with it.
· Good spatial recognition required
· 2 years experience in Cabinet Vision is a possible substitution for no AutoCAD experience.
· Rendering experience is a plus but not required
· Exceptional interpersonal skills with positive attitude to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
· Passion for details and high-quality work.
· Will require time spent both in the office and out of office at customer office or job sites; reliable transportation required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
