Position Overview & Specifications
Purpose
The Quantity Surveyor will evaluate all levels of commercial risk and maximise the company's benefit covering procurement, risk mitigation, pricing and contract management but also managing sub-contractor accounts from conception to final account, consisting of enquiries, tendering, negotiation, placement of orders and order of final account.
Duties
- To lead/assist on commercial management associated with the organisations Developments programmes and co-ordinate resources associated with providing good accounting and budget management
- To assist on contract procurement, management and performance and support Group Procurement through various frameworks that support our business requirements
- Provide and be accountable for financial forecasts for teams', contractors', and partners' expenditure over the duration of projects, and to provide support for financial planning, forecasting and budget controls
- To produce, analyse and report on the profit improvement plan to senior management
- Audit expenditure and contractor accounts, including those of supply chains to ensure accuracy of valuations and invoices, ensuring that we receive value for money.
- Undertake feasibility studies, investigations, scope and prepare cost plans and estimates in inform high level decision making regarding commercial and development opportunities.
- Establish key metrics for the measurement of productivity/efficiency enhancements driven by your function and regularly report results to key stakeholders
- Quantity Surveying degree or any other commercial, construction or civil engineering qualification; housing background
- Significant experience in the field with a good commercial and residential, understanding both Public and Private sector.
- Knowledge of JCT D&B, NEC framework
- Up to date knowledge of construction materials to support innovation and development.
- Able to work with tight deadlines and demonstrate managerial skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills - communication
- Able to create and maintain great relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- £40,000 per annum
- 36 -37hr working week
- 16% pension contribution Local Gov scheme
