Position Overview & Specifications
Salary: £11-£14 per hour
Contract: This role is initially for 1 year (with opportunity for extension).
Purpose for the role:
Looking for a part time archivist at the Milton Park site to process incoming study files that are sent to the site from European Contract Research Organisations (CROs). Processing includes organising records, indexing via MUSE (database), preparation for shipment to the off-site archive and retrieval of items when requested either by the CROs (e.g., for an European country monitoring authority GLP inspection) or internally by SMEs (e.g., to evaluate raw data to answer regulatory authority questions)
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Receive study records (paper, CD, tissues, slides...) from CROs and sent acknowledgement (Signed Chain of Custody form)

Index the study records:
- Bar code with the off-site archive reference labels
- Input into the new MUSE software
- Input into the current excel archive database until full transition into MUSE has completed and excel database is discontinued.
- After indexing, box up the study records in the off-site archive designated packaging, for collection and transport to the off-site archive facility for storage
- Retrieval of study records from the off-site archive facility when requested; and return as soon as possible after the purpose of request (e.g., Good Lab Practice (GLP) inspection at CRO) has been completed.
- Review older study records to determine if they need to actually be stored or are beyond their retention period, this will reduce storage costs.
- Assist with any divestitures when needed.
- Have a very good attention to detail
- Be open to meeting and talking to people from all around the world
- Be curious to ask questions to ensure full comprehension
- Have an excellent command of the English language and Microsoft tools
- Have an education in a scientific-related discipline.
