Position Overview & Specifications

Our O2 Building Services team are looking for a Senior Building Services Manager to join their team.

This role is a critical part of the multi-disciplinary engineering team, who provides the expertise and accountability for all the maintenance and operational undertaking for The O2.

You will assist the Head of Building Services in the day-to-day Building Services Operations, deputising for them when needed.

Whilst supporting the Head of Building services with the preparation of the annual operational budgets and CAPEX request forms; you’ll manage the Building Services team and subcontracted services to provide full maintenance expertise across The O2 site for mechanical and electrical services, monitoring performance and taking remedial action where necessary.

You’ll lead on small/minor works projects and improvements and manage relevant elements of the planned preventative maintenance programme process to maintain the M & E elements of the buildings and maximise the life of all infrastructure and capital equipment.

You’ll lead the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Team, to provide exceptional levels of service and be responsible for the compilation of periodic reports on all aspects of the M&E service delivery.

Ensuring the venue is maintained to the highest possible levels and that the priority areas of the venue are closely monitored; you’ll represent the Building Services department in relevant company meetings including meetings with other O2 stakeholders; and maintain a close professional relationship with all O2 tenants and deliver their contracted services and entitlements.

You’ll also manage allocated budgets and ensure best value sought for all purchases and bought in services.

We’re looking for someone who is suitably qualified and experienced in the mechanical and electrical industry; with experience of managing a complex building with a high visitor footfall.

You will be responsible for the management of a team of approximately 25 engineers and various sub-contractors across the O2 site, so will be a capable people manager, with experience of the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management and development.

You will possess a relevant M&E Engineering qualification to at least technician level; be qualified in health & safety to at least IOSH Managing Safely level and have experience in compiling and reviewing Risk Assessments & Method Statements.

With sound budgetary management skills, you’ll be commercially astute and aware of clients and customer’s needs.
