Could you be Age UK’s new HR Advisor? This permanent role is predominantly home-based but will include regular travel across Yorkshire and Lancashire.

In this varied role you will support the People team by providing front line ER advice, guidance and support for your business area that is consistent, up to date and legally sound. You will assist with effective implementation of all learning and development, including delivery and evaluation of all training interventions and identification of any training gaps, to support the business needs and drive future change.

As a key point of contact for your business area, you will also support the employee journey from recruitment, all the way through to employee departures, contributing to the coaching and development of the management team on all employee relations issues.

Must haves:

  • Demonstrable track record of advising on complex ER issues
  • Demonstrable experience of working in high pressured high volume case management environment
  • Experience of working with field based or remotely based internal customers
  • Experience of coaching and developing a complex and diverse workforce
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law in practice and HR policy with the ability to provide pragmatic solutions

Great to haves:

  • Exhibit strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships, staffing management and training.
  • Be comfortable managing ‘grey’ areas
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels and handle potentially sensitive matters and difficult individuals
  • Highly organised with the ability to multitask
  • Sound and calm communication and mediation skills
  • Balanced and measured approach to decision making
  • Excellent written presentation and facilitation skills
  • Intermediate level in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
