Role Overview
Coating operators work as part of a shift team covering 24/7 operations, via a rotating day/night 4 on 4 off 12 hour pattern. You will be performing the process of manufacturing a product, which involves: The controlling of heatsetting ovens, spraying and coating of polyurethane materials, both milling and grinding machining applications as well as SAP data entry and online QC inspections. All of these process steps are performed on bespoke computer controlled machinery.
You’ll need to be self-motivated with a positive attitude and capable of being on your feet for long periods of time. You’ll need good attention to detail. You must have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative while maintaining a team approach.
Duties include:

· Ensuring that safety is top priority when conducting all procedures and instructions to maintain a safe and risk free environment
· Involvement in both continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives
· Participate in Tier one meeting at the beginning of each shift
· Update machine cell boards and electronic files ensure real-time information is visual for all in the department
· Partaking in daily and weekly 6s/TPM activities
. Participate in Inventory cycle counts
Person Specification
Essential
· At least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
· Ability to read technical drawings
. Able to work adeptly individually as well and effectively contribute to team performance
Desirable
· Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
· Understanding of SPC
· FLT experience
· Shift work experience
· Exposure to SAP ERP
· Experience of using overhead hoists/cranes
