As an HR Senior Analyst, you don’t need to be a technical wizard as such – but you do have to be passionate about how IT solutions can help support the business.

We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Technical Analyst to join our Workday Team in HR at Bolton for a period of 36 months. HR is based in Bolton and is responsible for Recruitment, Training, HR Administration, MyWorkday (HR IT) and Health and Safety. We are looking for someone with experience and passion to join our growing team.


The successful applicant will join a dynamic team, which designs, configures, trains and deploys to the whole of ALDI GB and IRL on the Workday system. Workday is a HR IT system that houses all of our employee data and is the home of our Employee Lifecycle plus Learning and Development for our Colleagues- sitting at the heart of HR processes across the business.

This fast paced and exciting role is responsible for the Talent and Performance aspects of the Workday system for the entire ALDI business. You will need excellent stakeholder management to collate, design and configure new functionality in the Workday system to meet business needs, as well as supporting the business in Talent and Performance reporting and training. Talent and Performance currently owns processes such as Performance Reviews, Goals, The Competency Framework, Feedback, and Career Information as area of responsibility.

You’ll be required to be calm under pressure and use your initiative, so you’ll need excellent communication and organisational skills. Further to this we are looking for someone who has strong attention to detail and a real passion for technology and data.

Your New Role


  • Maintaining Talent and Performance configuration in Workday
  • Designing, building, testing and deploying new Talent and Performance configuration
  • Supporting the business with training and training materials that are required for Talent and Performance processes
  • Supporting the business with Talent and Performance reporting as a Talent Super User
  • Mapping, maintaining, and updating the Competency Framework for current and new Job Profiles
  • Maintain Career Profile data options such as Schools, Job History, Certifications, Languages, Professional Affiliations
  • Maintain Goal Periods for the business
  • Purging Talent Data and Check-In data when required
  • Support the National Career Progression Team with Talent Pools
  • Mass archive Goals and mass delete Feedback requests as required
  • Create Skills and add skills to the Maintained Skills list
  • Liaise with the National Training to map Skills and Competencies to Learning content
  • Analysing the bi-yearly Workday releases for impacts to Talent and Performance configuration and accessing the benefits, changes and user experience of new functionality
  • Using Workday resources to self-develop knowledge, troubleshoot issues and problem solve requests for change


About You


  • Workday Fundamentals Certification or equivalent qualification
  • Experience with Talent and Performance processes i.e. previous Management, Training, Recruitment or Assessment experience
  • Workday Functional Lead experience
  • Experience of completing at least one Workday release cycle
  • Workday Knowledge and functional analysis
  • Demonstrable success communicating, consulting, influencing, and building relationships at all levels
  • Possessing highly developed analytical skills with the ability to plan, implement, measure, and scale the best balance between candidate, customers, and the process
  • Experience of working with Jira and Service Now
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Able to adapt to change quickly and be flexible with your approach
  • Shows high levels of initiative
  • Able to work independently
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency

In addition to the above you will also act as a cover partner for the Learning Lead, upskilling in all areas of the functionality and supporting them to deliver training content for the business via Workday.

  • Salary starting £58,715 rising to £76,160
  • 36-month fixed term contract
  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working
