About Us

Niche, established business making insurance claims for homeowners for water and fire damage, negotiating the claim to settlement and then carrying out all building works approved by insurers

Company Description

We are an FCA regulated niche business providing an end to end service for property owners to make a claim to their insurance company for water damage, leaks and fire damage. We will present the claim, survey and assess the costs of damage and negotiate a settlement after which we will carry out restoration and reinstatement works with our panel contractors. We are a small highly skilled team known and established for 10 years in the industry providing excellent customer service and concrete results for our clients.

Job Description

  • The role is office-based with visits to clients’ homes as needed for damage assessment
  • Prepare cost and works schedules for building repairs on bespoke software as part of the clients claim
  • Submit the claim to insurance companies.
  • Set up meetings with loss adjusters
  • Deal with post-meeting objections from loss adjusters until a settlement is obtained
  • Raise purchase orders to subcontractors
  • Attend site to start off jobs as required, brief the client on the sequence of works
  • Deal with quality issues, any customer concerns and monitor the progression of works to satisfactory completion.
  • Manage jobs for all contractors to ensure prompt starting of jobs, completion as soon as possible with minimum downtimes.
  • Source, hire and develop new subcontractors in line with company requirements

Role Requirements

  • Knowledge of building repair costs such as plastering, tiling, flooring, decorating, carpentry etc. and of how building repairs have to be organised
  • Proven experience of organising and managing building repairs with subcontractors
  • Can-do approach to problem solving and dealing with customer demands/complaints
  • Methodical clear head, ability to follow a process and attention to detail
  • Ability to use own initiative and work in a team
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with proficiency in Excel
  • Accountability and willingness to take ownership of repair works to obtain the best result for our client
  • Some knowledge of water damage, flood and fire claims and an understanding of the claims function and lifecycle will be an advantage

Training Provided

The company will provide on-the-job training in the following areas :

  • Preparation of works and cost schedules on our bespoke system
  • How to argue successfully for the required works with loss adjusters and counter their objections
  • The entire insurance claims process from cradle to grave and how to provide customer service to our standards

This is an excellent opportunity for a fast learner to increase his/her skills in a company which has a proven track record of success in the industry.

The successful candidate will have worked for an insurance repairs contractor or assessor dealing with fire, flood, and water damage claims or as a junior project manager or surveyor in an insurance claims management company.

Salary: £47,500.00 per year
