Your role in the team


As a Full Stack Engineer in Identity and Access Management (IAM) you will be part of a core team within Identity and Access Management. We have a key focus on building out a centralized platform and core services for customer identity and access management (CIAM) as we look to rearchitect how customers’ needs are best met.


The full stack team you will be a part of, will establish core Digital Identity services, using architecture patterns that focus on interoperability, utilizing a vendor product (ForgeRock) that leverages user journeys with an emphasis on customer experience. Incorporating a digital identity ‘source of truth’ leading to improved and simplified customer connections therefore enabling a one-Allstate vision by centralizing our digital identity store. Building these core services we plan to improve monitoring and detection using event driven data sharing to ensure best CIAM practices and security standards are upheld.


We are seeking a candidate with significant full stack engineering experience to be part of an XP team. If you are an enthusiastic developer fully immersed in the latest technology stack this role would be ideal for you.


Responsibilities


We are searching for talented and technical engineers who can help design and develop our products. The successful candidate will collaborate within the team and across engineering teams to help maintain, implement, and deliver features.


  • Use your technical skills and aptitude to meet/exceed delivery velocity expectations as a full stack developer
  • Build and maintain frameworks/libraries/reusable components, Applications, REST APIs, frontend and Abstraction Layers
  • Participate in daily product stand-up, iteration planning, and retrospective meetings
  • Participate in the effort of shaping the architecture and design of the product; actively help the team in choosing the right technology and solving technical problems
  • Establish and follow continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices
  • Create and update technical product documentation
  • Provide support to developers/engineers who use the team’s products

So, what are the essential criteria to apply?


  • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
  • At minimum 5 years’ software development experience; and
  • Experience with Java, React JS, Javascript, CSS; and
  • Experience with testing frameworks: such as (junit, Mockito, jest, jasmine); and
  • Experience with database technologies, such as SQL Server; and
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing systems at scale and
  • Experience with multi-threading, asynchronous, and parallel programming; and
  • Experience with understanding of distributed systems, operating systems, networking, databases, security and analytics; and
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies - in particular XP preferred.

We also have some desirable criteria


  • Experience with designing and developing frameworks/libraries/reusable components
  • Experience using Git Hub and Jenkins
  • Experience in Cloud Computing Environments in particular Google Cloud Platform or AWS, Azure.
  • Experience in Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
  • Strong desire to continue learning and growing (technical and non-technical areas).
  • Experience providing guidance and support especially for less-experienced colleagues.
  • Experience with, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Experience of leading an engineering team as tech lead or engineering manager.
  • Experience of the ForgeRock product.
  • Experience of working within an Information Security focused team, including familiarity with PEN testing and IAM best practices.
