Description


Our Utility Accounting department ensures that our clients never pay more than they should – validating every element of utility invoicing. This includes electricity, gas, heat and water.
Within Utility Accounting, we’re on a mission to be a trustworthy extension of our clients’ business; supporting their financial, environmental and reporting goals by empowering them with the utility data we’ve collated and cleansed.
We’re looking for Analysts to join our Utility Accounting team; providing bill validation, query management and reporting services to our clients. Amber’s client base varies in size and service requirements, therefore there are opportunities to manage your own portfolio of clients or work in a small team to service one larger strategic client, as required by the business.


What will you be doing?


  • Providing a Utility Accounting (bill validation) service to amber clients.
  • Collating invoice data from various sources.
  • Validating clients’ utility invoices to ensure they’re only paying correct charges.
  • Raising any billing queries with suppliers and progress through to resolution.
  • Ensuring your clients’ database is up to date and follow internal processes if not.
  • Producing and send client monthly or annual reporting to deadline, with value-add commentary.
  • Liaising with your client to understand their utility budget strategy, produce budget reporting and follow up reporting required e.g. invoiced vs budget cost analysis.
  • Creating and maintain a healthy relationship with clients and suppliers.
  • Maintaining accuracy and invoice data completeness to levels of 100%.
  • Producing other reporting, and additional ad hoc as required by your clients.
  • Managing documentation in adherence to company procedures

What does good look like?


  • Ideally, experience in utilities or bill validation.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Highly organised and efficient.
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
  • Able to adapt to the learning of in-house systems.
  • Confident and clear communicator, who is able to simplify jargon into client friendly responses
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment with an exceptional work ethic.
  • Ambitious, keen to adapt and grow
