Job description

Do you have previous experience supporting a child or young person within a care setting? Are you looking to expand your skills and enhance your career to include providing Complex Care or do you already hold this experience?

Apollo Home Healthcare is seeking experienced Support Workers to support a teenage boy through out the night on a 1:1 basis.

We are looking for compassionate individuals who enjoy delivering one to one care and have a passion with working with children, while being able to build a positive relationship with our service user and his family.

Our service user is a happy young boy who lives at home with his family in Bury. He is very smiley and enjoys interacting with his care team. His hobbies include reading and watching TV and playing with sensory toys.

You will be required to observe him throughout the night ensuring he is safe and assist with all his personal care needs.

He can wake regularly for long intervals, and you will be required to comfort and reassure him by means of play, reading stories and general comforting to assist him to settle and go back to sleep.

It is important to understand his methods of communication to identify his wants and needs, as he is non-verbal and communicates through his body language. Patience is a key quality for this role.

We are looking for candidates with a genuine desire for working with children and young people who can support him in the things he loves.

Our service user has specifically requested for female staff to work on their team

Essential Experience Required

  • 3 months’ previous care experience
  • Personal Care
  • Moving and Handling

Desirable Experience

  • Learning Development Delay Awareness

We have the following shifts available;

  • Part Time- 10-20 hrs per week
  • Nights- 9.30pm-7.30am

Weeknights £11.00 per hour Approx. £110 per 10 hour shift

Saturdays £11.25 per hour Approx. £112.50 per 10 hour shift

Bank Holidays £15.00 per hour Approx. £150 per 10 hour shift
