Position Overview & Specifications

Arconic is currently in search of PCS Technician (Industrial IT Technician) to join our Kitts Green Team in Birmingham .

Primary Responsibilities

The role will be working in the process control department, primarily supporting the computer infrastructure for an industrial environment.

  • Windows Domain and Active Directory support.
  • Preparing servers and computers for use in an industrial environment. Includes configuring industrial software for use in SCADA / PLC environments.
  • Applying Windows patches and other security updates, whilst working around manufacturing production requirements.
  • Resolving issues with computers which have been deployed to systems in the factory.
  • Cisco network administration.
  • Microsoft SQL administration.
  • Management of software backups.
  • Keeping inventory records updated in SharePoint.
  • Creating and updating written procedures.

Whilst the core of the role will be infrastructure support, this is a developing role with opportunities to learn…

  • Development of Microsoft SharePoint, Power Flows, Power Apps and Power BI solutions.
  • Computer programming in .net and for industrial SCADA / PLC systems.
  • Microsoft SQL development.
  • Aveva OSI PI historian.

Basic Qualifications
  • Computing based degree required.
