Role Overview & Responsibilities

MCR Operations Engineer -
In this this exciting position you will have experience within MCR, to provide 1st and 2nd line operational customer support, monitoring Arqiva’s DTT network which provides Freeview services across the UK.

MCR Operations Engineer

Salary/package: Up to £42,000, plus comprehensive company benefits

Location: Feltham, Middlesex

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete planned works and maintenance on the full range of systems and networks within the operating environment
  • Respond to faults and service outages and complete corrective maintenance in line with Arqiva standards policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects through the provision of technical advice, installation and commissioning support and service transition Implement upgrades and modifications to existing systems and networks ·
  • Maintain accurate records, documents and reporting of actions taken Complete testing and measurements to ensure compliance with regulatory, industry and customer requirements · Contribute to the continuous improvement of operating policies, processes and procedures Engage with customers and build positive working relationships
  • Supervise the delivery of 3rd party suppliers and contractors to ensure that specifications and standards meet Arqiva requirements
  • Must be willing to work on a 24/7 – 12 hour working shift pattern days/nights

Must Haves:

  • Experience of broadcast standards, SDI, MPEG, ASI & DVB
  • Computing skills, including a general understanding of WINDOWS/LINUX operating systems
  • Previous in-depth technical experience in an MCR and Coding & Mux environment

Might haves:

  • Experience of systems and equipment relevant to role such as RF systems, DVB, Analogue Radio, DAB, Microwaves, Sat Comms, Data Networks (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a Playout environment desirable
