Position Overview & Specifications
A privately owned business who specialise in injection moulding, metal pressing, insert moulding and assembly are seeking an Automation Engineer to join their team.
Reporting to the Technical Director, this position will work within the technical department and assist with the maintenance of existing manufacturing systems as well as developing and assisting with the introduction of new manufacturing systems.
As an Automation Engineer, your duties will include -
- Supporting the Production department in resolving issues and the on-going use of manufacturing systems involving robotics and associated electrical and electronic systems
- Providing practical guidance to other technicians and operatives in the use and care of these systems.
- Introducing automated systems that work with the company's core processes of mouldings, stampings and light assemblies
- Taking a significant role within continuous improvement activities
- Participating in feasibility reviews for new enquiries
- Ensuring manufacturing systems comply with relevant health and safety requirements and good practice and guarding legislation
- Liaising with specialists and contractors to ensure specific tasks are completed
We are keen to speak to anyone who has -
- A working knowledge of the programming and operation of robotics (5 - 6 axis) and gripper systems (primarily Fanuc)
- A working knowledge of the programming and operation of Mitsubishi or Siemens PLC systems and interfacing to robotic systems
- A working knowledge of common vision systems (commonly Cognex and Sensopart) and their use in light manufacturing.
- A basic knowledge of pneumatics and control electrics
On offer for a successful Automation Engineer -
- A salary of £35,000 - £38,000
- Day shift: 8am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday, 3:30pm finish on Fridays
Based in the East Midlands, the Automation Engineer role is easily commutable from Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield, Loughborough and all surrounding areas
