Salary £18,327 - £19,431

Job Purpose

To provide a personalised, customer focused range of beauty therapy treatments to customers at the spa facility at Deeside Leisure Centre.
To provide the customers of the spa expert advice on a range of treatments and products on offer that will enhance the customer’s experience.

Main Duties and Accountabilities

• Responsible for carrying out beauty therapy treatments for a wide range of customers at the spa facility, endeavouring to enhance their appearance, wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem.
• Responsible for discussing product and service options with customers, to enable appropriate decisions to be made by both parties and increase the customers’ sense of involvement and satisfaction. Additionally, responsible for promoting the sale of products in conjunction with treatments.
• Responsible for devising personalised approaches and plans for each customer, to help enhance their well-being and to provide a high level of customer care. This will include establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with individual clients..
• Responsible for making recommendations regarding promotions/special offers in conjunction with the Spa and Fitness Officer, to attract clients and maximise revenue by making an active contribution at spa team meetings.
• Be involved in demonstrations and sales events by being proactive and highly visible throughout the whole Centre. This will involve generating sales through face-to-face contact with Centre customers not currently utilising the spa.
• Assist with the operation of the spa pool area
• Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, safety and cleanliness are maintained at all times and that the treatment rooms/changing areas are kept well-stocked.
• Act as receptionist (as and when required) liaising with customers, taking bookings and payments and utilising the IT system and the till.
• Liaising with the Spa Supervisor and maintaining a good level of professional and retail stock levels.

Person Specification

Essential

• Education NVQ Level 2 or relevant professional qualification in Beauty Therapy.
• Proven experience of working in a spa/salon environment.
• Experience and knowledge of spa products.
• Proven experience and detailed knowledge in the delivery of treatments within a spa.
• High Level of customer service and client satisfaction.
• Working knowledge of a spa booking system or leisure management booking system.
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
• Good level of IT knowledge and understanding of different programmes.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to build an excellent customer rapport.
• Knowledge and understanding of sales and marketing techniques.
• Awareness of Health & Safety and an understanding of working instructions/normal operating procedures.
• Willingness to be flexible with working pattern around organisation needs.
• Ability to cover reception area if required as part of the role.
• Willingness to complete ongoing training and continuous professional development.

Desirable

• NVQ Level 3 – working towards or a requirement to enrol and complete.
• NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Spa management or leisure management.
• Nail technology qualification.
• Experience of spa products and their application.
• Experience with other holistic therapies
• Working knowledge of Gladstone LMS and Premier Spa system
• Experience of client documentation reports and the storage of confidential client information.

Salary: £19,060.00-£20,208.00 per year
