Still family owned and run, we have evolved from simply fabricating conveyoring systems, to manufacturing and supplying high quality precision equipment, state-of-the-art software and intuitive control systems for materials handling equipment specifically for the global corrugated packaging market. Due to continuing growth in the business we are now seeking an Accounts Assistant to be part of the ongoing success of Avanti Conveyors.
We are based in Furness Vale in a converted dye mill set on the edge of the village close to the Peak Forest Canal. We are positioned within walking distance of Furness Vale train station and a short walk from bus routes.
JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:
To support the Finance team and the wider business with accounting activities and basic administration tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Management and posting of daily cash book transactions in all currencies.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Managing and processing staff credit card, and travel and entertainment expenses.
- Maintain fixed assets register and post depreciation.
- Sales invoicing and credit control.
- Assist with purchase ledger as and when required.
- Maintenance of quarterly commission spreadsheet for sales department.
- Management and processing of weekly timesheets and payroll, including pensions administration.
- Completion of VAT Return.
- Provide additional support and ad-hoc MI reports as and when required.
PERSONAL PROFILE:
- Ideally a minimum of 3+ years’ prior experience in a fast paced engineering /manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of project accounting.
- Experience using an ERP system (Epicor an advantage).
- Ability to work under pressure to ensure the job gets done.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Numerate, with a good attention to detail - accurate and methodical in work and able to work to a tight budget.
- Good IT skills.
- Clear communication skills at all levels, especially verbal.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise well.
- Calm, reliable, trustworthy, unflappable, and cheerful.
- Confidence, enthusiasm, self-motivation and determination.
