Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Dog Trainer to join our team and help us provide exceptional training services to our clients' furry friends. The ideal candidate will already be a dog trainer, have passion for working with dogs, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop training programs that are tailored to each course.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct puppy and adult/adolescent training sessions with dogs and their owners
- Be independent and able to run the classes on your own.
- Develop and implement training programs
- Teach obedience commands
- Teach more advanced skills
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors
- Provide progress reports to dog owners
- Assist with socialization training for puppies and adult dogs
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs during training sessions
- Maintain training equipment and keep training areas clean and organized
Requirements:
- Certification from a reputable dog training program or certification organization preferred
- Previous experience working as a professional dog trainer
- Knowledge of dog behavior and training techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and their dogs
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Physical ability to handle and train dogs of all sizes and breeds
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Salary and Benefits:
- £40 per session
- All clients at our daycare who need one to one training will be referred to the trainer - if you are a freelance trainer this is a great opportunity to gain more clients.
