Position Overview & Specifications

Blueleaf are looking for an experienced Transport Administrator to join our great Operations team in our Castleford location, working Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.


On a daily basis, you'll report to the Warehouse Manager at Castleford and be responsible for the daily routing of our delivery vehicles and the day-to-day transport administration activities, including working closely with our Transport Manager to ensure compliance of the fleet. You will also assist the Warehouse Manager in maximising the efficiency and profitability of the Blueleaf Operations team through structure, process and controls, and assist the Shift Supervisors to ensure a smooth and efficient operation which will require high motivation, great organisation skills along with the ability to work under pressure. The ability to lead and motivate others around you will be a requirement for this role. If you have experience of working in a transport administration role within a warehouse environment and the understanding of both warehouse and transport processes, then this role could be for you.


Your day to day responsibilities:

  • Routing of vehicles on Descartes software
  • Dealing with drivers/contractors to ensure excellent delivery service and to provide tracking and routing updates as required/requested
  • Conduct a robust driver debrief each day
  • Liaise with Transport Manager on fleet compliance
  • Analyse and summarize information for company reports and KPI’s
  • Ensure all customer orders and collections notes are recorded and monitored
  • Compile, produce and monitor daily, weekly and monthly service & performance reports
  • Assist the Shift Supervisors in ensuring the correct procedures are used for all customer delivery/collection discrepancies i.e. shortages/overs not delivered etc, and the relevant department contacts advised
  • Liaise with the Customer Service team and provide relevant, and timely information relating to any issue with customer consignments
  • Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value
  • Operate in a safe manner complying with all health and safety and environmental regulations to ensure safety of own and others wearing the safety equipment provided by the company
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment to ensure operational efficiency – Clean desk policy
  • Occasionally there maybe the need to work from other warehouses within the company due to business requirements
  • Returns Management and planning customer collections from Netsuite daily
  • Pallet booking for network carriers
  • Keep up-to-date with ADR Regulations
  • Courier Reporting and actioning failed deliveries
  • Management of SUB cases
  • Critical Operations report management from previous days issues
  • Dangerous goods shipment form completion
  • Yard report actions
  • Attend weekly CS meetings, host on occasion
  • Servicing RAB management (different to normal RABs)
  • Manual Delivery notes
  • Work with IT to develop new programmes and help trouble shoot Ops IT issues
  • Adhoc tasks as required
  • Support Health & Safety on site in all areas


Skills & Experience

  • Experience of working in a warehouse/transport planning role
  • Good understanding of warehouse and transport processes
  • Great verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Attention to detail
  • Willing to participate as a full member of the team
  • Basic understanding of warehouse picking, checking, loading and dispatch processes

What will we offer?

We will offer a competitive salary between £28,000 and £30,000 per annum, and 33 days holiday per annum inclusive of bank and public holidays.
