Scrum Master

About the role

Please note – successful applicants will need to be a UK National, reside in the UK and be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance at SC level.

As part of our ambitious growth plans, new and exciting roles are being created within our expanding multi-disciplinary Information Systems team. As a Scrum Master, you will coach high-performing delivery teams, engage directly with our customers and users to understand their problems, and help to shape and deliver elegant solutions.

Your day-to-day responsibilities:

· Coach delivery team members in following Agile methodologies and Scrum practices

· Support Product Owners in the creation and curation of value-driven backlogs

· Help build a productive environment and culture of collaboration and shared ownership

· Facilitate internal and customer-facing meetings and team ceremonies, including reviews and estimation activities

· Push delivery teams to automate development processes wherever possible

· Actively contribute to capability improvements

· Help resolve conflicts and identify impediments

· Provide support on the use of Agile development methods and tools

· Collaborate with other delivery team members (Business Analysts, UX Designers, Software Developers, Test Analysts, and Project Managers) to ensure successful project delivery

· Work with the internal Service Desk team to investigate and resolve live issues

· Contribute to supporting documentation and deliverable

In terms of location, we have offices in central Bath, London, Fareham, Plymouth, or Weymouth, and we are happy to explore flexible and homeworking arrangements. There will be some requirement to attend one of our offices on a regular basis. There is also travel required to customer sites or to attend meetings.

About you

We are looking for a Scrum Master with the following experience:

· Practical experience as Scrum Master for a development team in an agile environment

· Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts, such as definition of done, user stories and backlog refinement

· Good knowledge of software development best practices and behaviours, applying standards and tools to achieve success

· Able to adapt and tailor processes where necessary to meet customer-specific challenges

· Able to present and articulate work clearly, communicating sometimes complex principles or information to customers and colleagues

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Able to work in a team to achieve common goals

· Able to problem solve within a team environment

· Able to support other Scrum Masters

· Willing to learn and develop in the role by making active contributions to projects

· Able to manage their time effectively, potentially across more than one project at a time

While not essential, it would be great if you also had some of the following experience:

· Practical experience being Scrum Master for more than one team at a time

· Practical experience of automating development and testing processes

· Good knowledge of other Agile frameworks (SAFe, XP, etc.)

· Scrum Master certification
