Manufacturing Operative / Production Operative

Full time position.

Boardman Transformers ltd is a small family business which manufactures a range of electrical transformers, selling throughout the UK and overseas. We are looking for someone to join our hard-working team based in Ulverston, to become a key part of our production team.

Working in the manufacturing department, you will be supporting the Factory Team Leader to ensure the highest standards and rates of production. In this role, you will:

• Manufacture our products to agreed specification and in line with daily production rates
• Operate a range of tools and machinery as part of a multi-skilled team
• Focus on quality standards to ensure these are achieved and maintained
• Minimise waste by increasing efficiency and reducing errors
• Operate safely within health and safety guidance
• Take a proactive approach to training to ensure multi-skilling across teams

To excel in this role, you will be:

• Great at following written and verbal instructions and sticking to a process
• Able to spot when something doesn’t look quite right and proactively escalate for a resolution
• Skilled at understanding finished product & factory quality procedures
• Comfortable juggling priorities and managing time effectively
• An excellent communicator
• A strong team player
• Soldering and assembly experience within the electronics industry

Essential skills and attributes:

• Receptive to being trained in the use of specific tools and techniques
• Highly motivated to work within small team and capable of working independently
• Able to follow, and adhere to, detailed assembly procedures
• Highly dexterous with good hand/eye coordination
• Ability to take the initiative to prioritise and work efficiently and tidily
• Complete tasks to a consistently high standard
• Desire to contribute to ongoing quality and service improvement
• Excellent timekeeper

Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From £23,920.00 per year
