Position Overview & Specifications
A high performing and innovative pricing actuarial department in a Lloyds Syndicate is looking for a junior analyst with a strong data analytics/science background to join the team.
The Data Scientist/Python Developer role will focus on using Python to help the Actuarial Pricing model build on their new platform for all classes of business. In addition, the role will involve using data science techniques to deliver use cases as part of a Data Transformation project; for example knitting together premium and claims data from delegated bordereaux and risk ranking. You will need good communication and organisational skills to engage with underwriters to build easy to use models that integrate well with other systems and produce insightful management information. These model build projects will tend to use VB.NET, R and Python. There will also be exposure to all the traditional actuarial roles (capital modelling, pricing, reserving, business planning etc.)
The ideal candidate would have strong Data Science/programming skills in a variety of languages; essentially Python, with a Mathematical/Statistical/Science background, who is comfortable interacting with other teams within the business. ·Strong statistical/data manipulation/data analysis skills are a must. Hybrid working pattern available alongside excellent salary and benefits.

Salary: £40,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
