Engineering Professional, In-Service Stress

Our passionate stress team supports, both short term and long term, in-service engineering structural repairs. Our vital role is to ensure the structural integrity of the aircraft repairs by performing various stress analyses of static strength, Fatigue/Durability, Damage Tolerance and Finite Element Model (FEM). We work hand in hand with Design, and other Engineering teams to provide an amazing customer experience.

Location: The home base location for this position shall be determined depending on Bombardier requirements and candidate’s circumstances either in the UK or in Canada (Montreal, Quebec). Relocation may be considered by the candidate.

In your role, you will:

• Support design engineering and customer support organization;

• Perform various stress analyses on repairs: Static strength Fatigue/Durability, damage Tolerance, and Finite element Model (FEM) on multi-platform aircraft programs (Challenger and Global);

• Prepare stress reports, static strength as well as damage tolerance analysis for compliance purposes;

• Carry out stress calculations to assess design solutions and repair trade studies;

• Review repair engineering drawings and participate actively in the development of in-Service solutions;

• Provide clear visibility to management of the status and/or emerging issues to the supported repair activities.
