Position Overview & Specifications

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the Trust’s Executive Management Team and is a voting member of the Trust Board of Directors. As an Executive Director, the post holder shares responsibility with Director colleagues for the overall strategic direction and performance of the Trust.

This represents a really exciting opportunity for someone who has the motivation, energy and drive to work for an award winning, high quality mental health, community and learning disability and autism services provider.

The COO will contribute to the strategic thinking and decision-making processes of the Trust and has overall responsibility for the delivery of high-quality operational services and effective performance across Community and Inpatient settings. The successful candidate will be required to implement and communicate a clear service strategy which is sustainable, supports quality and improves outcomes and enhances service user experience.

The COO will lead specific programmes as agreed with the Chief Executive and will also be the Executive Lead for Emergency Planning. The COO will need to have the drive and ambition to deliver a complex, challenging and exciting agenda whilst promoting an organisational culture that actively promotes the Trust’s Vision and Values and positively engages staff, service users and other stakeholders within Place and ICB, in quality improvement and service transformation.

The COO will particularly promote the development and delivery of the Trust’s Care Trust Way approach to continuous improvement and role model and further embed in the organisation the Trust’s values of We Care, We Listen, and We Deliver.
