Position Overview & Specifications

Heather Ward and Fern Ward (at the Airedale Centre for Mental Health) are looking for passionate and committed individuals to join our acute inpatient wards as Health Care Support Workers (HCSW).

Would you like to broaden your clinical experience, working in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver a wide range of care?

We work with individuals, their carers and our partners to ensure that people get the right care, in the right place with the right support. We share the common goal of becoming the leading provider of integrated care for people of all ages with mental or physical health needs.

Heather Ward is a female acute psychiatric ward, caring for those from the age of 18 to 65, who are experiencing acute mental health crisis.

Fern Ward is a male acute psychiatric ward, caring for those from the age of 18 to 65, who are experiencing acute mental health crisis.

About you -

You will need to be resilient, compassionate and dedicated to providing holistic care. Patient focused and driven to helping encourage recovery of our patients.

To provide generic care and planned interventions to the patients/clients within the Adult Mental Health Acute Care Service.
Provide care to patients to maintain their personal hygiene, physical health and psychological comfort ensuring that their privacy and dignity is always maintained.
Under the supervision of registered health care professionals assist the healthcare team with the provision of clinical care for a defined group of patients
Ensure patient safety is maintained and patient experience is positive by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with respect, dignity, and courtesy in accordance with Trust values.
Takes leadership from Assistant Practitioner within a delegation framework for agreed tasks.
