Group Accounts Assistant
We are a fine food wholesaler and manufacturer offering the independent retailer a fantastic choice of over 1,500 high quality, premium preserves, marmalades, honey, chutneys, condiments, sauces, pickles, cakes, biscuits, snacks, gift boxes, hampers and confectionery.
The group comprises two divisions – a wholesale distribution division with £20M turnover employing 90 people and a manufacturing division with £5M turnover employing 40 people. Due to significant growth, we are currently looking to appoint a Group Accounts Assistant on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, well-established business in a friendly and collaborative team within a positive working environment.
You will report into the Group Financial Controller. This role is varied and would suit someone who is methodical and highly organised and able to work on their own as well as be a team player. You must possess the ability to support team members, communicate at all levels and work to strict deadlines.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparation of financial reports such as daily KPIs and sales analysis, working to deadlines
- Assist with checking, coding and entering purchase invoices
- Prepare commission reports for payroll
- Processing credit card purchases
- Assist with the preparation of month end supplier payments for authorisation
- Check and authorise employee expense claims
- Assist the Group Financial Controller with adhoc duties
The ideal candidate will be someone who:
- Has experience in a similar role and has good all round accountancy skills
- Has good IT skills including Outlook and MS Office, particularly MS Excel
- Has completed or is working towards an AAT or equivalent qualification
- Is a Confident and clear communicator
- Is Positive, friendly and mature with a professional approach
- Has the ability to work efficiently and accurately, especially when under pressure
- Possesses excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
