Job Description
- To be an integral member of the Brookfield Properties Europe Finance team
- Take “end to end” ownership for certain European investments and the related entities
- Be the “go to” person for all accounting, commercial and legal structuring issues relating to those investments
- Build excellent and enduring relationships with the other areas of the business (asset management, leasing, development etc)
- Become extensively and integrally involved in the financial reporting process from operating level all the way up to Brookfield Corporate in North America
- Looking after a portfolio of assets and related entities – responsibility is on an all-encompassing, total ownership basis
- Reporting for assigned entities – monthly closing of accounting books, forecasting, business planning, liquidity, statutory accounts and tax compliance, and other supplementary reporting
- Manage and take full responsibility for the external entity audits and financial statement process
- Provide financial analysis (e.g. tracking against business plan) and manage the liquidity requirements of your properties including payment approvals
- Plan and propose profit distributions with supporting documentation provided to management
- Provide commercial finance support to the asset managers and manage their input to Finance
- Involvement in group reporting consolidation and management reporting with quarterly submissions to New York
- Interact and manage the Luxembourg and German service providers
- Involvement in relationship and reporting to joint venture partners, where Brookfield’s ownership is not 100%
- Establish strong working relationships with the London based group team and other teams within the business including Asset Management, Tax, Treasury and Legal teams
- Interface with Brookfield colleagues worldwide
- Assist senior colleagues on the acquisition and disposition of investments
- Occasional travel to European destinations
- Highly organised and meticulous
- Strong technical ability - highly competent in fundamentals of accounting
- Demonstrable drive
- Confident in a changing and fast-paced environment
- Able to overcome barriers and resistance
- Clear communicator and excellent relationship builder
- Qualified (0-2 year PQE)
- ACA (preferred) /ACCA/CIMA
- Solid degree 2.1 or 1st
- German/French language an advantage but not essential
