About the role
The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of infrastructure related IT projects. You will be responsible for multiple IT Project Deliveries working very closely with stakeholders and resource teams. It is essential that the Project Manager will have a solid background of working in IT infrastructure related projects. The projects you will be working on will range from data centre moves, telephony, network changes, standing up new environments, refreshing infrastructure, upgrading software, decommissioning old environments etc. You will work with the stakeholders and third-party suppliers to ensure projects are properly scoped, forecast, resourced and delivered in line with the project budget. You will be responsible for ensuring clear scope definition, planning, communication, and timely project delivery.
Skills:
- Excellent level of project management agile and or waterfall skills based on proven methodology such as PRINCE2, with proven ability to manage scope, timeline, budget ann risk,
- Proactive communication with excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
- Good written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated team-building experience
- Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to determine level and method of communication required for diverse audience, and ability to adapt communication style
- Demonstrates significant levels of initiative and self-confidence, is adaptable and is able to cope with changing and evolving priorities while working in fast paced, time sensitive environment
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Project and other project management tools and methodologies, including knowledge of and ability to utilize implementation methodologies and deliverable templates (Resource Plan; Work Plan; Test Plan; Implementation Plan; etc.)
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and contribute in a team environment
- Ability to engage in Strategic thinking and decision making beyond the project level
- Interpersonal skills, perseverance and patience
Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven project management experience managing multiple IT technology projects, ideally IT Infrastructure based
- Practical on the job knowledge of Waterfall and/or Agile Project Management methodologies
- Demonstrated history of contributing to process improvements & building successful teams
Education:
- Formal Project Management Certification desirable eg. PRINCE2
- GCSE passes in Mathematics and English as an absolute minimum
This role is a hybrid position, ideally based in our central Nottingham office 2/3 days a week.
