Tipi Crew

Canvas & Light is a friendly family run tipi company, providing beautiful event structures for weddings, corporate events and parties in Sussex, Surrey and Kent.

We currently have vacancies for seasonal crew who would like to work with us for the 2023 season. As part of our team, you would be setting up and building our amazing structures. This is a physical job with sometimes long days, but rewarding too. If you love the outdoors, seeing some amazing places and working as part of a team, this is the perfect job.

The ideal candidate needs to be ideally strong/physically fit. The ability to use initiative and work together in our small team is key to this role.

Experience isn’t necessary, but a bonus if you have it. You will be fully trained in all aspects of building these awesome structures from floor to canvas.

Our season will run from beginning of June to mid September and we have a busy calendar of events during those months. You do not have to be available for the full season to apply.

This isn't your normal 9 - 5 job, but we have a lot of fun and get a huge amount of satisfaction from putting up these amazing tipis. It’s always rewarding hearing all about the fantastic events they get used for and how grateful our lovely clients are for our hard work.

As a crew member, you should be:

Eligible to work in the UK

Have your own transport or means of transport to our warehouse in Reigate.

Desirable but not essential:

Experience of working for a tipi/marquee provider

Trailer towing B+E or C1E licence or above

Full clean driving licence

Hours of work:

When leaving for jobs, we usually meet around 7am. On some of our larger jobs, we can work over 12 hours, so you must be aware and be prepared for this.

We generally set up tips Weds-Fri and take down Sunday and /or Monday

Salary: £8.75 to £10 /hour depending on age and experience. We do not dock for lunch or breaks and pay travel time to site from our base in Reigate.
