Position Overview & Specifications

The All Wales Medical Genomics Service are looking for an enthusiastic Administration and Project Support Officer keen to make a difference to join the Training Team in service which forms part of the Directorate Management Team.

The Training Team is a small team that provides support first line support for trainees on the Scientist Training Programme and members of AWMGS.

We are looking for someone interested in taking responsibility for the coordination, development, delivery and evaluation of multiple training projects and lead responsibility for administrative support vital to maintain and develop AWMGS services.

We are looking for a flexible and adaptable individual who can work multitask in a fast paced working team. The role will involve working flexibly for 37.5 hours per week. The post is full time and on a permanent contract.

The role is currently based at University Hospital of Wales - however, please note that we will be relocating to a new facility at Cardiff Edge in 2023.

You must maintain project plans in relations to service developments, contributing to the development of robust workforce planning arrangements. You will contribute to the expansion of competence assessment mechanisms across AWMGS, and facilitate training programmes.

The post holder will develop working relationships with Service Users across Wales and other partner organisations and be able to represent the All Wales Medical Genomics Service at relevant internal and external meetings.

You must demonstrate the ability and experience to work with a team of multi-discipline professionals, to deliver projects of work of high quality, whilst achieving an excellent level of stakeholder satisfaction.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
