Job Description:

As a Degree Level Apprentice within the Manufacturing Engineers role, you will primarily support the activities involved in bringing design programmes into manufacture. This role is pivotal to the launch planning and smooth delivery of exciting new products or product refresh programmes. The focus is on the advanced manufacturing techniques and project management skills required to launch products on time, on cost and to the right quality. Typically, you will work closely with a range of other engineers, functions and managers both within your own company and supplier base.

Manufacturing Engineers work on all stages of product creation. They support activities ranging from design, early concept feasibility, prototype creation, production planning, computer assisted manufacture, production and quality monitoring. Typically, they work closely with suppliers and managers in bringing new products to life and assuring economic manufacture and product quality.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure our products are assembled efficiently and to the highest possible standard.

  • Use the most up to date equipment for the continuous improvement of our processes, equipment and tooling to ensure we have solutions within our world class facilities for our customers.

  • Troubleshoots day-to-day process problems, initiates solutions, and follows-up to evaluate effectiveness.

  • Conducts investigation to assist in resolving mechanical and technical problems.

  • Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc.

Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

  • 5 GCSEs (or academic equivalents) at Grade C/Level 4 or above. Must include:

    • Maths & English

    • A Science or Engineering subject

Plus at least one of the following:

  • 96 points from 3 A-Levels – Math’s & Science subject

  • Merit, Merit, Merit in an Extended Diploma or National Extended Diploma in Engineering or a related subject

  • Open minded, excellent problem solvers and who have the ability to learn quickly.

NOTE: You can apply with predicted grades. If you’re successful at the interview stage, the job offer will be conditional on you achieving the required grades before September.

NOTE: You will need to be able to travel to our training provider which may mean a driving license and car would be ideal, however, public transportation is available to our providers.

Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

  • Previous experience in delivering training is advantageous.

Contract: 5 Years
