Job Description:

As a Team Leader you will lead and co-ordinate a team in the CWL operations department ensuring the Safe delivery of quality products meeting customer order deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Continually monitor and audit Health and Safety, People, Quality, Velocity and Cost metrics within your span of control as per Caterpillar Production System (CPS) guidelines meeting targets

• Reinforce Caterpillar's Values in Action. communicate to appropriate departments/personnel and at daily start of shift meetings

• Record defect information in detail to the quality gate visual management boards/ management systems

• Clearly communicate defects to Operations and support area personnel as defects are identified

• Provide detailed quality feedback with quality alerts and quality meetings

• Participate in defect investigations and component inspection as required

• Standard Work / Training - Maintain the skills matrix for the team to 100% versatility, ensure standard work is updated.

• Participate in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs) for Safety, Quality, Velocity and Cost within your team operation.

• Lead the team to meet the daily demand of the job and root cause understanding events leading to process failure.

• Generate and work on Continuous Improvement ideas for your assigned area using the Continuous Improvement (CI) process

• Adhere to the Company's Health and Safety policy and safe working practices and reporting appropriately.

• Undertake training and further learning as required for the job and the BCP Safety Recipe.

• Maintain personal development required learning.

Required qualifications:

• Possess a good understanding of CWL Operations practices

• Experience of CPS processes to reduce/eliminate cost.

• Experience of the BIQ process, reporting defects, root cause analysis.

• As a team member the ability to work closely with others is imperative, requiring team participation to achieve the agreed goals

• A self-motivated, with the flexibility to deal with independent and team behaviours, you should be able to motivate others with your advice and experience

• Initiative and strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills

• Identify with Caterpillar's belief in the value of continuous improvement and a team-based culture

• Must be flexible and support extra hours if required

• Willing to work on a multi shift pattern

• High level of attention to detail

• Ability to work through quality issues in a methodical manner

Salary: starting salary £31,036.84 progressing through to end on once role triggers are met £34,403.69

Contract : Full time contract
