Job Title: Project Manager

Reports to: Head of Projects

Location: Nationwide, UK

Typical duties & responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Deliver and coordinate on site works in accordance with client change programme
  • Review RAMS and monitor QHSE performance of the supply chain to achieve a consistent standard.
  • Coordinate a range of suppliers and subcontractors in accordance with site works and scoped output.
  • Site visits to assess requirements in line with programme and client specification.
  • Provision of quotations based on site requirements and recommendations, in line with client specification
  • Plan on site works and produce project plan, including liaising with site agent (external) and contractors.
  • Hold initial site meetings, and routine site meetings in line with project programme, delivery and as dictated by client processes
  • Identify and flag all risks (technical, statutory, health and safety, commercial or otherwise) associated with each and every project.
    • Ensure compliance with in-house project management policies and procedures
    • Ensure that health and safety policy and process is effectively implemented across both our internal works and supply partner activities
  • Ensure appropriate control systems are in place to ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met.
  • Delivering effective communication to internal and external teams and stakeholders, including production of reports as dictated by programme delivery.
  • Management of project costs to ensure all variations are captured and reported back to the client
  • Management of direct and indirect suppliers to ensure program is tracked, and maintained, ensuring any deviations are reported back to the client and other teams relevant to program delivery
  • Develop effective relationships with current and potential customers through demonstrating our capability in project delivery solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with subcontractors, in particular preferred suppliers. This is to ensure cost effective solutions which meet our quality expectations can be delivered to our customers whatever the scope of works. Note all risks are to be managed, with our suppliers engaged on back to back terms and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal project management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company health and safety policy and process whilst ensuring that they are effectively implemented across both our activities and subcontractor’s activities. These are to be regularly audited and reviewed.
  • All projects must commence with a pre prepared Health and Safety file for the works including F10 notifiable projects and other areas notifiable (gas, building control and asbestos)

Person Specification

  • Ability to control multiple projects from inception to completion
  • Ability to manage direct and indirect suppliers/subcontractors
  • Problems solving skills, and ability to react appropriately to on site issues
  • Ability to manage quality, health and safety in line with CBRE policies, procedures and processes; and in line with current legislation
  • Professional and customer focussed, with ability to build relationships and communicate well.
  • Competent with project management of small works
  • Understanding of construction Health and Safety law and legislation
  • Understanding of the difference between mark up and margin and general financial terminology.
  • There will be a requirement for travel across the UK to support work load.

Experience

  • Proven track record in a project management role
  • Demonstrable experience in managing suppliers/subcontractors
  • Previous project management experience including monitoring of timelines and costs
  • IT skills – MS Project

Qualifications

  • Trained CSCS, SMSTS and similar accreditations regarding site control and H&S.
  • Further education, HND/HNC.
  • IOSH managing safely
  • Asbestos awareness UKATA
  • NEBOSH General Cert or Construction Cert
