An exciting opportunity has come up for an experienced SQL Developer to join Verisk Claims Solutions in Norwich or Newcastle.

You will primarily focus on our Intelligent Vehicle Inspection (IVI) product, which automatically triage motor damage claims into repair or total-loss workflows in seconds. This cutting-edge solution uses AI and advance image recognition technologies to instantly provide accurate repair pricing information and enable straight-through processing.

You will also work with other teams within the business on integration of the database and general maintenance and performance management of the company’s databases.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and maintaining existing ETL processes for internal and external data feeds
• Developing ETL processes, working as part of an agile development team
• Developing SQL scripts and Stored Procedures
• Working closely with Data Science teams; preparing and analysing data
• Supporting development team on database design best practices
• Improve system performance by conducting tests troubleshooting and integrating new elements
• Optimize new and current database systems
• Define security and backup procedures
• All work will be fully documented and stored within appropriate version control solutions
• Working with other teams to ensure they have the data required to perform their roles

Essential Requirements:

• Experience creating, performing, and maintaining ETL tasks (Extract, Transform & Load) on large volumes of data using SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) from various data sources such as but not limited to CSV, XML and JSON.
• Experience with relational database technologies such as SQL Server and producing complex queries.
• Experience in database administration tasks using Microsoft SQL Server 2019 (Schema maintenance, tuning, performance analysis, backups etc.)
• Writing complex T-SQL queries and SQL Stored Procedures

Highly Desirable:

• Experience of the Insurance industry (especially Motor Claims) would be beneficial
• Understand Information security (E.g. GDPR)
• Scrum/Agile Methodology
• Working with PowerShell
• Working with JIRA
• Source Control such as Git
• Working with .NET
• Experience of producing test data for QA environments
• Experience with large (>100,000 rows) datasets or datasets of mixed quality.
• Working with API integrations (JSON, Restful etc). Using Postman or similar tools
• Working with databases in the Cloud (ideally AWS)
