Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a highly progressive independent firm of chartered accountants in Bridgend who are now looking to add an ambitious Semi Senior Accountant to their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a well-renowned firm where you will gain exposure to a diverse range of clients and where there will be genuine scope for career development and progression.

The successful person will undertake a varied general practice role and will be responsible for preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships as well as the preparation of the associated tax computations and returns. You will also be involved in the completion of bookkeeping work for clients as well as the preparation of VAT returns and there will be the opportunity to gain exposure to audit work as well. Full training will be given in audit for individuals without any experience.

The ideal candidate will have had a grounding in general practice work and may be AAT Part Qualified / Qualified or may have recently begun studying towards the ACCA / ACA qualifications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Preparation of draft accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Preparation of corporate tax computations and returns
Bookkeeping work for clients
Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts
Liaising with clients to resolve queries where necessary
Communication with clients in relation to taxation matters including arranging delivery of information and meetings to sign off tax returns
Communication with HMRC in relation to client taxation matters
Assisting managers and partners with other client related tasks

Skills:

AAT Part Qualified or Qualified (ACA / ACCA Students will also be considered)
Practice experience is essential
