Position Overview & Specifications

Job Introduction

Here at Colas, we are seeking an IT Field Technician to join the team at our Solihull office. The Field Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day support of the company's IT systems and its users. This role involves prompt resolving of incidents and service requests raised via the ServiceNow helpdesk system remotely or by attending site. Regular UK wide site visits are also expected as part of this role.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting into the Service Desk Manager you will maintain and support all PC based ICT systems across multiple sites of Colas in the UK. You'll be an internal touchpoint for ICT related queries and issues - you will strive to provide the best solutions. You will support: End users -locally and remotely, Hardware, Mobile devices, Software and Networking. You will be responsible for the prompt communication and escalations/progress updates of unplanned and planned outages and keep relevant groups informed until the matter is resolved. You will have regular interact and interface with: Internal and external customers, CDS, client IT teams, UK IT management/leadership team and third party suppliers/partners.

The Ideal Candidate

You'll ideally have some previous experience or understanding of 2nd line support. You will have experience on working on different projects, hardware and networking. You'll be flexible, have excellent communication skills, proactive and work hard to ensure user satisfaction and internal customer service levels are consistently high, striving to come up with the best possible solutions. A driving licence is required for this role as you may be required to travel to different sites.
