We are currently seeking to to recruit an Employee Relations Partner to join our team. This is a UK based hybrid role with travel to other sites as required. This role will be on a 9-month fixed term basis. We welcome applications from current employees looking for a secondment or rotational opportunity. For external candidates, there may be an opportunity to extend beyond the 9-month period.

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, UK, the Employee Relations Partner will support our Connected Aviation Solutions, Mission Systems and Avionics Business Divisions and will work cross functionally across all Collins Business Units as required. You Key Stakeholders will include HR Colleagues, Legal Counsel, People Services, Business Unit Leaders, Trade Union and Employee Representatives, Ethics, Leaders and Employees.

Role Overview:

  • To provide expert advice and guidance on employee relations issues across the business unit(s).

  • To support the Head of Employee Relations – UK in managing good employee relations across Collins Aerospace.

  • To assist in the implementation of the ER Strategy and initiatives, to ensure that the ER team meet Collins Aerospace objectives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with managers and business leaders on all ER issues including poor performance, policy breaches, sickness absence, discipline, grievance, and flexible working; managing cases at the stage required bringing it successfully to conclusion.

  • Support on restructuring projects including redundancy and TUPE.

  • Support on matters which reach ACAS early conciliation and tribunal.

  • To effectively manage a caseload of varying complexity in a professional and timely manner whilst ensuring adherence to internal policy and process, and mitigating potential risks

  • Analyses employee relations trends and recommends and develops proactive strategies, solutions, programs, and policies

  • Leverages insights to influence all levels of the organisation

  • Assist with the development, delivery and co ordination of Employee Relations related training.

  • To work with the Head of Employee Relations – UK to establish and maintain the recording system for ER data and statistics and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.

  • Contributes to HR policy and practice projects across the organisation with a view to achieving policy harmonization and compliance

  • Monitors industry trends and case law to ensure up to date knowledge

  • Applies and demonstrates continuous improvement tools and methodology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of HR processes and tools

  • Embody, influence, and drive the Collins culture throughout the business.

  • Attend Disciplinary Advisor Committee calls, supporting the relevant manager through the process to enable them to make recommendations to the committee.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable ER experience

  • Detailed knowledge in Employee Relations and HR best practice

  • CIPD (or equivalent) qualification preferred

  • Ability to partner with HR and Legal teams to effectively manage all types of ER cases

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Excellent coaching, facilitation and conflict resolution skills

  • Analytical skills with the ability to use data to form hypotheses, draw insights, form narratives, priorities and influence decisions

  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and the ability to identify and mitigate risk

  • Ability to influence all levels of leadership and quickly develop rapport, trust and respect
