At Prestwick Service Centre we are specialists in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft engine nacelles systems and engine components.

We require experienced individuals who will contribute to our success, whilst upholding our reputation as a leading provider of quality MRO services with our European and Middle Eastern customers.

At our Prestwick facility, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Welder within our Mechanical Repair Team.

Key requirements:

  • Previous experience of tig welding within the aircraft industry is desired but not essential

  • Previous experience of orbital welding would be advantageous

  • Read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints and working to ISO standards

  • The ability to work to close tolerances

  • The ability to weld different types of material

  • Support departmental and site level Continuous Improvement activities

  • Compliance with all RTX policies and procedures inclusive of EH&S, Code of Ethics, Intellectual Property and Global Trade Compliance requirements

Candidates Requirements:

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated self-starter with the ability to multitask effectively, plan and prioritise workload to meet tight timescales to support our customer needs.

  • The ideal candidate would be educated to City & Guilds / SVQ 3 level or equivalent in a relevant discipline

  • Previous experience in welding repairs within a workshop or maintenance environment is essential

  • Previous working knowledge of MS Office packages and experience with the ERP system SAP is advantageous

We are looking for an individual with excellent organisational and analytical skills with the ability to problem solve. The role requires flexibility in rapidly evolving global aviation market. Dayshift/backshift rotation will be required in the role (with associated competitive premiums) and will be complemented with a comprehensive training working within a culture based on positive assumptions that supports personal growth and development.
