Position Overview & Specifications

About the role

Providing first-line response for the IT department you will be responsible for day-to-day IT support for the business, as well as dealing with and escalating incidents. You will be working in a cross-functional IT department – alongside software developers, infrastructure technicians and as part of a project team.

Main Responsibilites

Desktop Support

  • Provision, maintenance and support of desktop and mobile devices
  • First line support of hybrid environment, provision of telephone support, resolving and logging calls on the phone
  • Reviewing and allocating Spiceworks tickets and emails to IT mailbox
  • First response, fault finding and first fix of urgent user issues – or escalate to the IT Manager or Development team as required, once initial testing fact finding has been completed
  • Supporting the IT Manager with projects as required, including hardware roll out projects
  • IT department administration
  • Running and updating checklists for maintenance
  • Technical testing of systems, prior to release for user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Providing Management information on tickets to the IT Manager
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, Defender, Intune and SharePoint

Business Continuity

  • Sharing 24 hour call out rota with colleagues, with agreed SLAs (once trained)
  • Participating in business continuity test scenarios as required
  • Participating as required in incident management and investigation
  • Escalating issues during an incident to relevant suppliers
  • Building FAQs for users to look up their own support solutions for basic issues

General

  • Ensuring the IT environment is kept tidy, organised and ‘client ready’ at all time
  • Adhere to ComXo policies as well as industry best practices
  • Take part in scheduled OOH testing and maintenance
  • Engage in ad-hoc systems testing and changes

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent understanding of and enthusiasm for IT.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an IT support capacity or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, telephone, and written.
  • Ability to work to a high standard under tight deadlines.

Essential Experience:

  • Windows 10
  • Microsoft 365 administration
  • IT ticketing systems
  • Supporting a hybrid environment (remote and office-based)

Advantageous Experience:

  • Hardware repairs
  • Veeam, vCentre, Duo and Asana; if the right candidate does not have experience, then training will be provided.
