Considerate Carnivore are delighted to be able to offer the role of Butcher at their store in Locks Heath, Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity for the ideal candidate to join an innovative team of butchers successfully trading in Fareham and greater Southampton. Considerate Carnivore is a Butchers shop which takes pride in being able to source local, Free Range small farm meats whom has built lasting relationships with private farmers across the UK.

This role will allow the ideal candidate to work with some of the finest meats available from Seaweed eating Lamb, local New Forest Pork and aged Scottish Highland Beef.

Main responsibilities:

• To be the lead butcher in the shop
• Preparing and ensuring the raw meat display is full and well kept
• Come up with innovative and exiting new recipes and ideas
• Full carcass break down
• Preparing added value products
• Packaging
• Serving customers
• Being interactive and collaborative with your fellow team members
• Ordering stock and liaising / visiting the farmers
• Making the best Sausage's around!
• Ordering ahead and ensuring the orders are catered for in busy periods such as Christmas and Easter
• Capturing and providing the Social media team with images of exciting new products

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Minimum 2 years experience
• Be fully trained and operative in the Butchery trade
• Have a small experience and be willing to offer/learn 'craft butchery'
• A keen eye for perfection
• A hard working, collaborative and innovative attitude
• Be open to new ways of working
• Possess a driving licence
• Be willing and able to take imagery for social media
• Possess strong organisational and interpersonal skills

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
