We’re looking for an ambitious digital operations assistant to help us deliver our exciting new food digital strategy.

In this role, you’ll support the digital operations manager in modernising and shaping the future of the way our customers and members shop at the Co-op. We’ve come a long way from where we were, but there’s more work to be done. We’re focusing on technology and how we can improve and automate operations, and what it means for our business. This is a huge, high-profile project, and with so much exciting change happening, there’s never been a better time to join us.

What you’ll do:

  • create, develop and analyse multiple data reports
  • work with colleagues across the business to promote a more digital-focused and forward-thinking culture, gaining buy-in and explaining the benefits of our digital propositions
  • support with the development and delivery of training materials and tools to educate our store colleagues on how to manage our online customer offer
  • analyse internal data to spot trends and identifying areas for improvement or opportunity in stores
  • support the digital operations manager with day to day work

This role will suit people who have:

  • an understanding of how stores work
  • a passion for online and future technology
  • good IT skills, you can easily adapt and learn new systems and tools
  • excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with different audiences, from store colleagues up to senior leaders or external partners
  • the ability to build relationships with a variety of internal and external partners across the business
  • the ability to present data in a meaningful and actionable way
  • Microsoft Excel skills, you can confidently use tools such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables

Why Co-op?

Here you’ll do work that matters. We’re a commercial organisation with a purpose beyond profit, and as an interaction designer you’ll have an opportunity to help us build a stronger Co-op and stronger communities. You’ll also get a package that includes:

  • competitive salary
  • coaching, training and support to help you develop
  • pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • annual incentive scheme
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 in line with service)
  • discounts on Co-op products and services

Building an inclusive work environment

We’re actively building diverse teams and we welcome applications from everyone. We want to build inclusive work environments, where our colleagues have equal opportunities to reach their full potential. We celebrate our differences, and recognise the importance of our teams reflecting the communities they serve.

We're also part of the Disability Confident scheme, meaning we'll always offer an interview to disabled candidates who apply through the scheme if they meet the minimum criteria for a job.

We'll ask whether you’d like to be considered under the Disability Confident scheme when you apply.

If we invite you to take part in the recruitment process for any of our jobs, we’ll ask you if you need any reasonable adjustments to enable you to participate.
