Position Overview & Specifications

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic tutors to deliver a variety of arts and craft subjects across the county. In particular we would be interested in applications from people who would be available to teach the following (both qualification and leisure courses) in the listed areas:

  • Jewellery – Falmouth and Newquay
  • Printmaking – Falmouth
  • Sewing and Garment Construction - Falmouth

Sessions could be held during the daytime or evening.


The post holders will effectively deliver high quality learning opportunities to groups of adults ensuring maximum retention of learners and achievement on their courses. The role requires the ability to assess learners, identify appropriate support and planning and delivering high quality tuition to ensure maximum learner retention and achievement. They will inspire and motivate and have a commitment to bring out the best in every learner and encourage their progress. The successful candidate will also be required to work closely with our quality team to ensure we are meeting Ofsted requirements. They may also be responsible for directing and supporting a Learning Support Assistant if necessary.


Candidates need to be qualified, experienced and highly motivated arts practitioners with excellent communication skills. A generic teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed. or equivalent) is required and a subject specialist qualification in your field. The post holder must also be a confident and competent ICT user.


This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
