Position Overview & Specifications

We are seeking Psychology tutors for 1 or 2 days a week (5 or 10hrs) over 36 academic weeks as part of our Access to HE team at our Bude and Newquay centres and/or our remote (online) offer. The role is long term and on-going, starting in September 2023.


The successful candidate must be comfortable teaching all aspects of Psychology in line with Health and Social care / Social Science requirements at Level 3.


Candidates must be able to effectively plan and deliver high-quality learning opportunities to groups of adults and young people on our Access to HE Health and Social Care and Social Science Level 3 Diploma Courses, ensuring maximum retention of learners and achievement of qualifications/ learning goals. The tutor will be required to plan, deliver and assess students' progress, track learning, monitor and encourage development and set targets. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of Access to HE Diplomas as well as their subject specialism.


You should be competent in teaching and supporting at Level 3. Candidates should hold

  • a Degree or substantial subject knowledge – qualification in subject specialism at least one level higher than the level teaching.
  • Teaching Qualification(s) in line with national legislative requirements
  • English and Maths qualification at level 2 or above
  • Good IT skills
