Chef

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a creative flair, as well as the ability to lead a team of kitchen staff.

Crocus at Dorney Court is a unique and innovative home and garden retail destination with a stunning café seating 80 indoors and 50 outdoors.

The café is open during the day and serves anything from drinks, to breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. Our extensive menu is created by our dedicated Chef using area-sourced food.

Guests can immerse themselves in a stunning oasis of calm and charm. Set in the grounds of the Dorney Court Estate, near Eton, there is an ancient walled garden with ivy-clad walls and terracotta brickwork surrounding plots of vegetables, manicured lawns and beautiful topiary.

We are looking to expand our kitchen department and are looking for a passionate Chef.

Main Purpose of the Job:

• Preparation of fresh food to required specifications.
• Maintaining up to date product and menu knowledge.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised kitchen, workstation and storage areas.
• Ability to run own section.
• Collecting and checking deliveries and placing them in the appropriate storage areas.
• Monthly stock takes to ensure achievement of the required gross margin.
• Helping with stock control and ordering to reduce wastage.
• Adhering to all food hygiene, health and safety and personal safety considerations.
• Understanding and complying with COSHH.
• Provide support to other members of the kitchen and front of house team as required.
• Represent the brand, values and image of the location with high levels of personal hygiene, personal grooming and professionalism.
• Any other reasonable duties/requests as required.

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of seasonal products.
• Positive team attitude.
• Good initiative.
• Ability to remain calm and work under pressure within a small and busy team.
• Accuracy and an efficient manner.
• Physically fit and able as some heavy lifting is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £24,000.00 per year
