Position Overview & Specifications
- Responsible for the uptime of client infrastructure and applications – including availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning.
- Involvement in ensuring the end-to-end availability and performance of key services and building automation to prevent problem recurrence.
- Involvement in current manual deployments and alerts handling processes.
- Assisting in the roll-out and deployment of new product features and installations.
- Finding scalability bottlenecks and areas for performance improvements.
- Contributes to the creation and maintenance of documentation for the solutions produced.
- Involvement in GOC Program transitions, assisting project teams in enhancing commercial opportunities and mitigating risks.
- Triaging and solving service issues and outages.
- Contributes to the design and planning of AWS cloud solutions (VPCs, EC2, EKS, microservices architecture), and Azure solutions (Network security groups, Azure Firewalls, Site to site VPN’s, Virtual Machines, AKS, containers, microservices architecture)
- Involved in the implementation of standard delivery processes for customer environments to improve the quality and simplify support
- Contributes to GOC Technical Wave Initiatives, driving operational effectiveness strategies and transformation savings

- In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.
- Experience in DevOps and System Administration
- Experience working in an agile environment
- DevOps skills: Terraform, Ansible, , Vault, Helm Chart, Docker
- Platform: Kubernetes, EKS, AWS, Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience creating and deploying infrastructure as code using automation scripts.
- Experience of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy and GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of enterprise system architectures.
- Experience with scripting and deployment automation.
- Experience with both on-premise and cloud environments.
- Experience administering Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience of programming languages: Powershell, Python.
- DevOps Skills: CloudFormation, Packer, or GitHub Actions.
- Terraform, ARM Templates, Ansible, Packer, Vault, PowerShell, Helm Chart, Docker
- Kubernetes cluster, Azure AKS, Azure, Linux and Windows operating systems
- A university degree in a numerate subject (e.g. Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, Natural Science) or relevant work experience.
- ITIL awareness to Foundation Level or above
- Relationships: The successful candidate must be able to uphold high professional standards with Cubic’s internal and external customers as well as staff at all levels of the organisation. The candidate will also be required to work with third parties and Cubic suppliers and must have excellent communication skills.
