Position Overview & Specifications

Introduction

Our client is a leading Project Management and Procurement Consultancy and they are passionate about the Defence sector!

They are looking for Project Managers to work across a number of projects and programmes with the MOD, including Infrastructure, technology, digital and real estate/construction.

They are happy to consider candidates who have just finished a graduate scheme (within the Defence industry).

You will have a local base location and be in the office / on customer sites 2 – 3 days per week, the rest of the work can be done remotely. Offices include: Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Bristol, Plymouth, Cardiff, Sheffield, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, Derby, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Darlington

Key responsibilities
  • Proactively provide trusted advice to our clients around how to deliver solutions
  • Full or part lifecycle delivery management
  • Providing independent assurance of projects or programmes, applying robust thinking to show how well or otherwise they are performing from a delivery perspective
  • Recovery of poorly performing implementations
  • Provide expert project and programme delivery advice where needed into complimentary services, such as procurement management
  • Ability to work alone or in high performance teams
  • Build client relationships and reinforce credibility as a subject matter expert
  • Demonstrate knowledge of industry standard methodologies
  • Support or lead business generation activity (bid qualifications and proposals)

Skills & experience
  • Experience leading or supporting projects within the Defence industry (ideally within a client facing role)
  • 2 + years within a project role
  • Stakeholder relationship management
  • Set up agile culture and capabilities, Support and guide agile practices, Adopt agile practices
  • APM, Prince2, AgilePM or Scrum qualification would be ideal
