Position Overview & Specifications

You will be working within the Davies Technology solutions arm of Davies Group. Davies Technology Solutions (DTS) is a leader in developing bespoke software and products for a wide range of businesses and industries.

The primary role within DTS is to create a specification and deliver high quality bespoke software solutions to our customers

Summary

Your role will be to engage with stakeholders both internal and external to understand and document requirements, processes, risks and objectives that allow for the delivery of a bespoke software product, and to provide sizing/estimates for the effort required.

You will initially report to Director of Commercial Delivery, until a Head of Analysis role is filled, with regular updates of the status of your projects and assist the project managers with their reporting of pertinent information.

Key Objectives


  • You will provide detailed user stories that adhere to best practice standards across a range of projects and programs utilising a set of core BA tools and techniques

  • You will provide estimates for effort and timescale for each ticket as well as dependencies.

  • You will help to prioritise backlog items in each sprint.

  • You will engage with customers and stakeholders to ensure complete understanding and alignment of project objectives, requirements and processes

  • You will be confident in all aspects of the project's lifecycle capturing requirements to define the scope, analyse change initiatives, obtain stakeholder approval and managing the acceptance of new features

  • You will take on multiple projects spanning both traditional development and robotic process automation with the ability to adapt your approach to suit the project assigned

  • You will document and report on risks and issues that arise within your project and present these back to the project manager or other stakeholders where required.

  • You will be responsible for time management and accurately estimating/managing your time on a project in line with the project budget


Skills, knowledge and experience

Successful applicants will require the following:


  • An active basic knowledge of modern technology including, .NET, C#, SQL, react.

  • At least 1-year experience working as an analyst in the software and technology sector and with different systems

  • Experience working within Agile and Waterfall frameworks and the ability to adapt your work style to match the approach of a project

  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders of all levels internally and externally and present information in a way that promotes full comprehension

  • Excellent Time management skills with the ability to work on and complete multiple projects at a time.


It would also be desirable for applicants to have:


  • A BCS certified BA qualification or similar


Experience with other BA software: Visio, Microsoft Project, Invision or similar
