Job responsibilities

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • To deliver a high standard of patient care using advanced autonomous clinical skills with in-depth theoretical knowledge and evidence based practice working under the supervision of a GP.
  • To manage a clinical caseload and deal with presenting patients needs in a primary care and secondary care setting.
  • To provide clinical leadership where appropriate within the practice and support other members of the team to develop and maintain clinical skills appropriate to your role and expertise.
  • Champion novel ways of working across the primary/secondary care interface.

Provide a Safeguarding role within the practice for adults and children and signpost when appropriate.

  • Experience of working as a Physician Associate.
  • Experience in triage
  • Experience of dealing with a wide range of clinical conditions

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a primary care environment

Clinical Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to effectively triage, assess and diagnose
  • Organised, sympathetic, and flexible - Good time management, being able to prioritise work and work under pressure.
  • Dementia Care
  • Chaperone procedure
  • Phlebotomy, requesting pathology tests and processing the results, advising patients accordingly.
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Asthma and Spirometry
  • CHD
  • Immunisations
  • X-ray Interpretation
  • ECG
  • Safeguarding Adults and children
  • Understand the importance of evidence based practice
  • Broad knowledge of clinical governance
